Worked on my receding hairline. I also habitually massage my head with my finger tips (blood flow), regularly drink green tea (anti-oxidants), hang up-side-down for about for about 5-10 minutes a day (blood flow), take Opti-Men Multivitamin, and use Ds Laboratories Revita Hair Growth Stimulating Shampoo.My condition before use:Before I started to use Spectral DNC and Revita Shampoo my hairline had receded around the front side of my forehead. Looking at past pictures my hair had been thinning since I was 17. I really didn’t start to notice until I was 21 and didn’t start to use this product until I was 22.My condition after 4 months:My hairline is nearly straight across my forehead and there are more little hairs thickening. Also I seem to go through a bottle about every 3.5 weeks.Product details:The product as of now includes a spray cap and a dropper tube. I use the spray cap until I reach the bottom in which case the dropper tube helps get the rest of it.Product use:I spray 1-2
Does anyone know if the otc hair regrowth products ( i.e. rogaine, )actually work?
I am a young woman and I have Hair ReGrowth Products been slowly loosing my hair for about five years. I don’t use any hair color or perms on my hair. My doctor did blood work on me, and didn’t find anythign to explain why this has been happening. Any suggestions?

I am 30 years old and started to notice my hair thinning about 4-5 years ago. I too bought Rogaine and when reading the material saw that the FDA approved the product for treating male pattern baldness, which by definition is when you lose hair starting in the back. But so many people start like me with a receding hair line that starts on the sides of the front hair line. People get the box and make a snap judgement that it won’t work because it was only tested for efficacy on the back of the head assuming that it wont work on the rest of the head. “I said f**k it, what do I have to lose but more hair” and started applying the solution down two parted strips of hair starting at the two front receding areas and working back the area of the head. I hold my head tilt to the side so that each strip application runs toward the center crown of my head. I go through a bottle a little faster than the 30 days because you end up using about 1.5 ML per application rather than 1 ML/application. But buying a bottle every 23-25 days and keeping my hair has been more than worth it to me. I can honestly say that at the rate my hair was leaving I would be almost bald by now at 30. Instead my hair first stopped falling out then after a few months (about 6-7) I noticed that my hair follicles were thicker and healthier looking/feeling. And finally after years of using, when looking at old pictures I can tell my front scalp line has returned to a more robust hair line. I must state that I had not lost a LOT of hair before I started, but after I came to terms that I was in fact losing my hair whenever I got out of the shower and saw my hair wet in the mirror, I decided to buy in to the hype of “use before you lose” and got on it. I’m not a scientist but for me, and the two buddies I told to try it (both had frontal/receding hair loss like mine) it has worked and is the only reason I have any hair on the front or back of my head. Hope this helps anybody that wants a real idea of what to do and what to expect.
I actually purchased this for my husband and it does take a while to work, so he is not yet seeing results. I however, have been using Rogaine for women since last July and I can’t believe the results. I am a 49 year old woman who has always had thin hair. After the birth of my children it got worse. Last summer I was loosing so much hair I asked my hair-dresser what to do. She suggested Rogaine. My hair is so much thicker now, I can’t see my scalp anymore. I would recommend this product to anyone with thinning hair. It is wonderful.
It works, I’ve used it for several years now. Inconvenient as far as drying time so I’m trying the foam too and it seems to be working.
I stared using Shen Min after surgery and stress made me start lossing my already thin hair. I have used it for around 10years and it has keep my hair healthy and fuller. No side effects.
I just turned 24 and my hair has thinned alot in the last few years. Not sure what the hell, but anyway I started using this product about 2.5 months ago, and I have definitely seen that my nails quickly got stronger, I mean within the first couple of weeks they quit breaking. I’ve always had clear, paper-thin nails, even when I took biotin supplements for years I could almost look at them and they would break! They are more white and no longer clear, don’t break or bend nearly as easy. As for the HAIR, well, I think it has grown slightly faster than usual but they say use it for 4 months to really notice the difference. I just got it trimmed less than 2 months ago and it normally grows very slowly, but I notice it already is in bad need of trim because its grown faster than normal. I think the texture is better too. I also use Nioxin system 2 (shampoo, conditioner, and scalp treatment) which cleans the DHT and buildup off the scalp pretty well, makes it manageable. However, I only wash my hair once a week, so I would definitley attribute the slightly faster growth to the Shen Min, and the nails well definitely Shen Min. However not the dramatic, thickening results I’d hoped for and read on some other reviews. Maybe that will come, it’s still early! I’ve read that it upsets people’s stomachs, well I’ll admit at first it gave me bad gas (and I mean hot toxic ones)! But I don’t have that now, so I guess my system got used to whatever herbs the product has in it.
I have noticed a positive change in my hair. It is more manageable and has less breakage. Ships fast and works well.
I would not have entertained the idea of Chinese herb for my hair, but I had my mind changed quickly. It is everything mentioned in their marketing and more. I have grown hair everywhere, ie facial, legs, arms and of course a much thicker and fast growing head of hair. The hair growth is easy to deal with happily and I will take Shen Min until or if it stops working. In the meantime, earlier hairtrims.
This stuff worked pretty good for me. I have been using it for about a month now and I can tell it made a difference in my hair as I started to see little hair growing on the upper part of my forehead.
Did not receive the product so I can’t rate it. I received a product that I didn’t order instead. I have returned the product for a refund. Amazon was very punctual in arranging for the return of the product.
I’m an African-American male. I am using Spectral DNC along with Ajuven H2G hair growth capsules and the Revita DS Labortories hair shampoo since about March 2010.
I’ve had transplants done, too many to count which should not have been done in that way. Many surguries depletes the donor area, etc. So my hair has thin areas, especially the back, and thin on top and areas where the hair grafts took.
The Spectral goes on easy, not irritating. Along with the other products, my hair has gotten longer and seems fuller. Now, if you lost hair completely in areas, where the scalp is smooth, like my case, this means you’ve lost the hair follicles and nothing will grow. I knew this and this is true based on my using these products these past months.
I would recommeded Special DNC though. I think it may be working some. But as I mentioned earlier, I’m also using two other hair produtcs also.
I was part of a 90 days hair regrowrh study for DS Labs where I voluntarily came in twice a day to have this product applied to my scalp. I have to say that this product truly works for me. I was a former Rogaine user.
I’m 28 years old, male, mixed ancestry Black African, White Greek, French, who has tightly curled hair. Before the treatment I had baldness that ran from the front of my hairline to the crown of my head in a S-shaped pattern (it actually resembled an Asian dragon artwork). I had been diagnosed with sebhorrec dermatitis, which may have been the cause my initial hair loss.
As I began the study, I didn’t notice any growth. I was advised to keep doing the same things I usually do after each treatment with the product. So I continued my normal regimen of washing my hair with Neutrogena T Gel shampoo (to thwart off scalp flaking due to my sebhoric dermatitis), three hours after using spectral.
About a month into using it I started to notice vellus hairs (baby hairs) filling in the bald areas of my scalp. Two months later, I noticed more baby hairs growing where my old hairline used to be, and the previous baby hairs were becoming terminal hairs (adult hairs). After the third month of using I noticed a substantial amount of thicker hair in the bald regions of my scalp. I’m more comfortable going out to clubs without wearing a baseball cap.
Things I’d like to mention:
I usually sport a low cut hairstyle, and I brush my hair straight and forward using boar bristle brushes a lot before using this product. As my hair started to grow I realized that I was actually making my hair look thinner by brushing forward. I realized this when i took a comb from my hairline backwards against the grain and saw a lot of the new growth hiding under older longer hairs. Now I brush my hair 30 degrees mirror left, which gives my hair a fuller look.
I live in Miami Beach. If you have to go out into the sun after using this product, I recommend putting some sunscreen on your scalp or wearing a hat to protect the skin on your scalp, as it is now more sensitive to the sun since using this product.
I also noticed that my scalp hasn’t been as flaky since using Spectral DNC with TGel shampoo (it’s probably the healing effects of the copper peptides at work). I currently wash my hair first in the morning, then apply my Spectral DNC, then do the same before going to bed.
