Hair Thinning Hair helpful sources
I tried it for about 3 weeks and by that time my hair got so oily that i had to use any other shampoo to clean my hair. I followed the instructions of DS Shampoo that say you should wash your hair twice,but after i got out of the shower my hair looked like if i didn’t use any shampoo at all or like if i washed my hair with only water.
After that, i couldn’t keep using DS Shampoo to see hair growth results, instead i tried another cheap shampoo and my hair looked great with no oil.
I am a 20 year old boy from goa-india and i am having trouble with my hair. My hair is naturally very soft & smooth but there has been tremendous increase in hair loss for past year.My hair started to fall maybe about 3 years ago but it was just minor but now suddenly it is at a very fast rate.My hair Hair Thinning Hair is perfect on the side parts and also behind the head and also on the front of head but the problem is on top of the head or middle of the head and around crown of the head.That’s where i am losing lots of hair.What should i do to stop it? What is the reason for the hair loss? How can i regrowth the hair? I have recently showed it to a dermatologist who has told me to use MINTOP FORTE(MINOXIDIL TOPICAL SOLUTION USP 5%).He has told me that it is a slow process and it would take around 4 months to see the regrowth effect but he didn’t told me reason for the hair loss.Is the solution prescribed by the Dermatologist an ideal and perfect for me? Is it a good solution for hair problems?

Seems to make my hair shiny. Can’t speak to its ability to stop hair loss because I didn’t really track it although I feel better after using it since at least I’m trying to stop hair loss.
The Nioxin Scalp Therapy Conditioner works extremely well with my fine hair! After using it for a few weeks my hair has noticeable gotten thicker and is stronger. It feels good and looks fantastic! I have finally stopped my search for a good conditioner and will stick with this. Glad to have finally stumbled upon this!
The vendor I bought this from diluted the product with water by about 50%. This order was sold by Amazon – so I do not know the supplier. I have used this product for years and I know that it has a very thick almost pasty consistancy. What I got was watery.
I’m not one to believe the hype of marketing and advertising but I’ve used Nioxin for years and find that my hair has significantly stopped thinning and my hairline seems to have stopped in its tracks. I’ve also noticed, strangely, that I have less gray! I don’t know if it’s a result of using the shampoo and conditioner but either way, I’m glad. My room mate used it while he was staying with me between jobs and thought that it thickened his hair. If you have thinning hair, I recommend giving it a try. For me, it works!
This has to be the worst and most expensive shampoo that I’ve ever used. My hair began falling out when i started using this but i figured i would keep going since it said your hair might fall out for the first couple of weeks. Its been a little over a month now and i just finished my first bottle of revita. My hair is still falling out and if anything its gotten progressively worse. I had low to moderate hair loss before i started using this, now its high (15+ hairs fall per shower). I am giving this another chance, but i am buying the roundtop bottle to see if its any better and if my hair doesn’t stop falling out then that will be my last revita purchase ever. Its not even a good shampoo, it dries up and tangles my hair and on some parts it doesn’t even come off completely from the water so it feels like gel in my hair. Although i’m beginning to see patches of hair loss on my head, the shampoo is giving my hair more volume which is the only pro to it (somehow i feel its not worth the sacrifice). I will write another review when i’m done with the second one, i’m hoping it gets better.
Do not buy this product if you’d like to retain your hair! You shed hair like crazy after using this product. I purchased two bottles of this stuff, and only utilized about half of the first bottle before I ended up tossing them away. The bottles arrived leaking, just like other reviewers have noted as well. I’ve actually had great luck with two other shampoos, one of which is available here on Amazon – check them out – Your Crown and Glory Shampoo, and the other is L-Carnitine Shampoo by Hewley (available on Amazon). Both these products have helped with a healthy scalp, in turn growing new hairs! I’ve had people comment about how thick my hair is getting, and about the continued new hair growth! Stay away from the Revita, but try the others! Good luck!
I have been using this product for over one and half year with good results when I first started using it in the beginning of 2009.
If I were to rate it in 2009 I would have given it 5 stars. However, based on recent purchases (past 6 months) the product consistency has varied a lot and the product has become more watery and does not stop hair loss any more… the hair have started shedding again. I will tell you that the prior product had stopped hair loss and some hair growth was also noticeable.
I have been patiently waiting to see if the quality improves… but have not seen any improvement yet.
Product container in 2009 had a rounded top and the packaging said “Made in USA”. If I remember correctly, it was manufactured in Miami Florida. Recently the company has switched to a flat top packaging and the packaging says “Assembled in USA from imported materials”. I am guessing this is the reason for poor quality.
The prior consistency was thicker shampoo with reddish orange color which required a pea sized quantity that produced enough lather. The newer product is too watery and has a lighter orange color. You need two to three times the quantity to get the same amount of lather.
Bottom line… the quality has deteriorated and product is not effective anymore.
My hair started thinning when I was 18 and I have always had a very dry scalp. I bought this along with some minoxidil to try and stop my hair from thinning. I have used Head and Shoulders for my dry scalp for years. Since I started using this I have not used the H&S once. For me it is a great shampoo that I will continue to purchase regardless of the hair growth properties. Both my wife and me have noticed that my hair does seem a little bit thicker but I dont see it growing like crazy.
I wish there had been a review of this product before I decided to purchase it online. The first, and therefore main ingredient is alcohol, which is very drying to the hair. The product boasts in claiming to stimulate the production of Sebum, however the serum does more drying to the hair than creating any secreation through oils. Please do not invest in this highly expensive, yet very adverse and ineffective product.
This works. I can get 3 or more applications from each vial. Hair has grown back thicker and healthier – it takes a while.
Buyer beware: the web page for this product does not list alcohol among the ingredients, but the box the product comes in lists alcohol as the first ingredient. I would have to call this falsification on the part of the vendor. Lady of the Law is definitely correct.
I bought this shampoo at the recommendation of a friend and a beauty salon. I am a little ticked/confused that I paid $27 for this on Amazon and now see that it listed for about $23.00. Is this a normal Amazon practice, changing prices in a week? And my friend tells me she got it for $22 at Supercuts. So even though the product might be great, buyers, you should look around and compare prices. Amazon, I’m disappointed in you!
Made my hair very oily and even worse exacerbated my dandruff condition. As a result, didn’t use it for long enough to actually see any difference in hair thickening.
The shampoo is great, it smells a bit like medicine, but it has a tingling feeling when on your scalp. I feel that it works to clean my scalp of oil etc. I’m not so sure about thickening my hair at this point, but I continue to use it due to the tingle and clean scalp feeling.
I am 52 and female. I was loosing my hair like crazy. When I brushed or combed it, they were always full of my hair, not to mention while being in the shower and and when squeezing the water from my cleansed hair by another product, my hair was coing out on lots and lots of strands. I felt like I was going to lose my hair like my father and brothers, as well as my mother. I had gotten a receeding hair lines on my forehead and it was like I was going bald. I didn’t know what was happening. I’ve had fine hair pretty much all my life anyway.
Just about 3 months ago, I finally went to a salon to get my hair trimmed and showed the styist my receeding hairlines that I was so embarrassed about. My hair had also gotten so thin, my ears were poking out the sides, which it was never that bad. But, he reccomended this Nixion and explained how to use it. First the shampoo, followed by the Scalp Treatment Conditioner. I was to leave it in from anywhere of 2-3 minutes before rinsing it out. I could feel a coolness and tingling sensation and the minty smell to me was not that bad. Actually, the smell was pretty nice, at least to me. It smelled clean. After leaving the Scalp Treatment in for the 2-3 minutes…my hair felt like silk and so much stronger even by the 3rd use. Then after I towel dried my hair, I sprayed in the Scalp Activating Treatment and took my fingers and ran the treatment in my scalp. It seemed to bubble up some..kind of like a suddsiness. But that just seem to seep into my scalp and hair.
I also used it on the tips if my hair as well. I took my fingers making sure all of my scalp (including the receeding parts especailly in the front and on th top of my head) and when I combed this in my hair (you don’t rinse the Scalp Activation out), the comb just ran though my hair with ease. Not a tangle one. My hair never felt this good! It feels so much stronger, and my hair is not even close to coing out in hanfulls now. Maybe a strand or two and that’s it! I was totally amazed. My brush used to be full of my hair and I had to remove it twice each time I washed it when using other products. But not anymore!
After a couple of weeks, I went ahead and pulled my bangs up to look where my hair was receeding so badly. I actually saw a lot of short strands growing back where there was none before I started using this product. My hair now, actually looks and feels fuller, stronger and looks and feels better than it ever has in a very long time!This is working very well!!! I will NOT try anything else now and have been buying this product and I’m getting my hair back!!! I even still blow dry it, but using the warm setting on my blow drier and style it the way I like it. And I have to say that I am so glad that I went to that stylist who told me about it as well as used it on my hair!
Like some of the other reviewers had mentioned…you do need to check around for the pricing. I’ve found it at some really outragous prices in some places and even on eBay and here!
I started out using the Nioxin 1, but now use the Nioxin 2 and sometimes the 3. The two and 3 work best for me. I noticed the higher the number, the thicker your hair is or has to be. With ine being fine, I use the lower number Nioxin. I use the 2 of the shampoo and Scalp Treatment (conditioner) and 3 with the Scalp Activator and am having Great sucess by using it this way! I will continue to use this product and won’t even try anything since I’ve seen and felt what this one does!!! I’m sticking to it!!!
