I rated this at two stars, on the off chance this product actually does boost hair, skin, and nails…
I currently use Buried Treasures Women’s Formula, and am quite happy with it. I thought I’d give this one a try as well – but after just one use, I knew I couldn’t take to this the way I did the other. The taste is so awful – it literally has the taste of bile. I can’t make myself drink something everyday when it tastes like that – and because of that I can’t say whether this product works or not. I’m giving it two stars based on the fact I’m happy with their Women’s Formula vitamins and will assume this one is probably effective – or would be for the person who doesn’t mind vomit flavored supplements.

My 4 year old daughter has been plagued with various types of eczema & dermatitis since she was adopted from China at 15 mos old. We thought we had tried everything. Then, last month, I bought a bottle of Buried Treasure Hair, Skin & Nails and started mixing 1 TBSP in her fruit punch per day. (tastes just fine when mixed with juice). In 2 weeks all of the itching & scratching had stopped and the scattered minor scars began to fade. Her skin is smooth and golden! I also started using Burt’s Bees Carrot Nutritive lotion at the same time and don’t really know which one truly made the big difference but I will not be without either again!

HAS CHANGED THE APPEARANCE OF MY SKIN AND MADE BOTH HAIR AND SKIN LOOK HEALTHY.

I haven’t bought this shampoo yet, but while all the raves about this shampoo almost made me buy this one, I somehow got suspicious about the good reviews (thought too good to be true). So I did some search about biotin and here’s what wikipedia entry of biotin says:

“Biotin is often recommended for strengthening hair and nails. Consequently, it is found in many cosmetics and health products for the hair and skin, though it cannot be absorbed through the hair or skin itself.

Biotin deficiency is rare, as, in general, intestinal bacteria produce an excess of the body’s recommended daily requirement. For that reason, statutory agencies in many countries, for example the USA and Australia, do not prescribe a recommended daily intake of biotin.”

If this is true, it’s very likely that biotin contained in shampoos, conditioners (not just this one) won’t do much for hair growth, thickening.

Great product with a great price. This shampoo really makes my hair look and feel thicker. it also makes my hair shiny. I love it!

This shampoo is loaded with Biotin which strengthens your hair. It also helps your hair to grow thicker as well. I encourage others to read about Biotin & start using it.

There is no such thing as a shampoo that will make your hair grow nor will any add natural thickness to your hair. These claims are totally unwarranted and without merit. Incidentally the back of the bottle states that this will: maintain a healthy scalp, nourish follicles, help restore thinning hair, strengthen hair strands and boost body and volume. I use this shampoo because it is very mild and has a nice fragrance (lemon). It is certified organic by Quality Assurance International and by BioAgriCert (a company in Italy). I wish Avalon (the brand that manufactures this) would have taken a little bit more care in the packaging, it’s just a bottle with a lid that anyone can open up (there isn’t any safety seal around the top and the lid can come completely off unlike other big-name brands). Biotin is not the main ingredient in this (it is the 9th listed), some of the other ingredients include: organic aloe barbadensis leaf juice (2nd ingredient), soy protein, citric acid, potassium sorbate and organic rosemary officinalis. This is not 14 ounces though. I thought the bottle looked a little small (compared to my Pantene which is only 12.6) and found it to be barely 12 ounces. When I contacted Amazon they quickly issues me a partial refund for the mistake. Even with the rebate they offered me this is still a little pricey. But if you want a light shampoo without a lot of harsh chemicals then you may want to try this.

My hair was thin and breaking off so I thought I’d give this a try. It’s AMAZING! My hair is a lot fuller, thicker and has stopped breaking off after 2 months of daily use. My nails are even growing and have stopped being brittle and breaking off as well. You must take this vitamin for at least 30 days to begin seeing results and I highly recommend taking it for at least 60 days.

I received this product exactly three weeks ago today and I have been taking them with a 5,000mcg of Biotin. I haven’t received that much hair growth with them, i honestly believe the hair growth that i have is from the extra biotin im taking a day. Its grown 1inch in the three weeks which is pretty good! My nails and skin look great, but again i believe this is from the extra biotin that i am taking. Overall, this is a good hair, skin, and nail vitamin but i truly believe from research and personal experience that you need too take more biotin, niacin, and horsetail to achieve greater results with hair growth. Hair skin, and nail vitamins usually dont have enough of the main vitamins that actually stimulate your hair growth.

Purvana really works. After a week or so I noticed my nails getting stronger, my coplection smoother and less hair falling out.
